Elon Musk Accuses Google of Promoting ‘Inappropriate Bias’ in AI Programming

Elon Musk didn’t mince words in his recent critique of Google’s AI practices. In a series of tweets on Thursday, the Tesla CEO lambasted Google, particularly targeting its chatbot Gemini’s image generation feature, which was paused by Google after facing criticism for being culturally insensitive.

Musk’s criticism didn’t hold back: “I’m glad that Google overplayed their hand with their AI image generation, as it made their inappropriate bias clear to all,” he tweeted.

Google acknowledged the issues with Gemini, stating it was aware of inaccuracies and pledged to release an improved version soon. However, Musk remained unconvinced.

He also took aim at Jack Krawczyk, Gemini’s product lead, accusing him of contributing to Google’s alleged biases. Musk’s critique extended beyond Gemini, with him highlighting what he perceives as biased search results favoring censorship.

This isn’t the first time Musk has criticized corporate diversity and inclusion policies. He has previously targeted OpenAI, advocating for his own company’s AI, Grok. Google has yet to respond to Musk’s criticisms.
